Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov met with a delegation from the French Ministry of Defense led by Catherine Vautrin. Together with the command of Ukraine’s Air Force, they visited the combat positions of anti-aircraft missile units.
Fedorov reported this on social media on February 9.
“We held the meeting against the backdrop of another massive Russian attack on critical infrastructure. The French delegation saw with their own eyes what Ukraine faces every day”, — he wrote.
The minister noted that Russia systematically attacks energy infrastructure and civilian facilities with missiles and drones. No country in the world has ever endured such constant missile-and-drone strikes.
According to him, Ukraine is now among the leaders in producing various types of drones.
“We continuously work on military innovation. It is already clear that the missile program will become a successful direction, and we will expand it together with our Western partners”, — Fedorov emphasized.
He noted that despite sanctions pressure, Russia continues to manufacture missiles and UAVs. Therefore, joint production and cooperation with partners are critical to strengthening the defense capability of Ukraine and all of Europe.
The minister showed Ms. Vautrin the 24/7 duty of Ukrainian servicemen and French equipment such as SAMP/T, Mirage 2000, and Mistral at combat positions. She personally spoke with Ukrainian soldiers.
