The President of Ukraine received a report from the negotiation team after contacts with the American and Russian sides and emphasized: Ukraine needs results, and the foundation of any peaceful result is effective security guarantees.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on his page.
According to the Head of State, the negotiation team provided detailed information about the talks — including what caused the strongest emotions and where there was the greatest constructive progress.
The President stressed that Ukraine did not start this war — and it is Russia that must end it. He emphasized the need for continued active involvement of partners in working toward peace and their readiness to consider realistic proposals. Zelenskyi separately thanked the United States for its readiness to help.
They also discussed the preparation of documents important for ending the war and possible new meetings in the near future. The President noted the need for greater progress, set boundaries for the team’s further dialogue, and announced that a schedule of necessary steps is being developed.
He also stressed that Ukraine will keep European partners informed about the state of negotiations and the real prospects of the process.
