During January, unmanned systems of Ukraine’s Defense Forces demonstrated extremely high effectiveness, eliminating nearly 29.7 thousand Russian servicemen. This exceeds the enemy’s mobilization rate, as Russia recruited only 22 thousand people over the month.

This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, after a monthly meeting on the development of unmanned systems.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the current war has become a competition of technologies, where unmanned systems play a leading role.

Key performance indicators of UAV units in January:

  • UAV units struck 66.2 thousand targets;

  • Ground robotic complexes performed a quarter more missions than in December;

  • The Defense Forces maintain an advantage in the use of FPV drones.

“This is the difference we strive for: to destroy more soldiers than Russia can put into service. Such effectiveness will force Moscow to stop its aggressive war”, — General Syrskyi emphasized.

Threats and enemy’s development

During the meeting, military intelligence reported on the development of Russia’s drone forces. The occupiers plan to increase UAV personnel to 165 thousand. They are also expanding production of interceptor drones and testing new models “Geran-4” and “Geran-5”.

Strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine

To counter the enemy and increase technological superiority, the Commander-in-Chief made several decisions:

  • Additional UAV battalions will be introduced into certain assault regiments;

  • Strengthening of UAV components within Territorial Defense brigades continues;

  • New technical and operational solutions will be scaled across the entire Armed Forces.

Syrskyi also thanked drone pilots, engineers, and infantry soldiers holding the line and destroying the enemy daily in close combat.
