The new security assistance package Estonia is preparing for Ukraine will include drones and counter-drone systems.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The countries are also working on an agreement for joint production of weapons for Ukrainian soldiers on Estonian territory.
During their conversation, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov informed his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur about the consequences of another massive strike on Ukraine, during which the enemy used about 70 missiles and hundreds of drones.
Fedorov stressed that building a distributed air-defence system and increasing the effectiveness of destroying attack drones remain key priorities. These are the areas in which Ukraine and its allies are focusing their joint efforts.
The Defence Minister thanked Estonia for its commitment to provide security assistance to Ukraine at a level of at least 0.25% of its GDP annually, as well as for its important contributions to the PURL initiative.
Fedorov separately noted the key role of Estonian partners in the IT Coalition. Thanks to Estonia’s technological leadership and the coalition’s work, Ukraine is scaling digital solutions, including online services for the military.
“Ukraine is ready to openly demonstrate the operation of such products as DELTA and the aerial situational awareness system. Ukrainian defence innovations will be available to Estonia for testing without bureaucratic barriers”, — the Ministry of Defence reported.
