Three Months on the Zero Line: Fighter “Volyniaka” Describes How the Infantry Holds the Front
A rifleman of the 1st Heavy Mechanized Siversk Brigade, callsign “Volyniaka”, held positions for nearly three months under constant enemy pressure, with active enemy UAV use and periodic strikes by guided aerial bombs near the positions.
His story was published on January 28 on the brigade’s channel.
The rifleman from Volyn says that the approaches to the positions are literally covered with the bodies of enemy infantry. According to him, the key factor of resilience remains internal support — both in daily life and in combat.
“If someone needed water, a powerbank, or anything — we shared everything. That’s how it is among your own”, — he says.
Ammunition was sufficient at the positions, and in case of need, supplies were delivered quickly. Logistics remained stable, including through the use of drones delivering critically important resources directly to the front line.
“Dyak”, a rifleman from Kirovohrad region, says that the most difficult part was entering and leaving the positions.
The enemy actively used UAVs, and sometimes guided bombs were recorded nearby.
The work of the infantry remains key. Despite constant pressure, soldiers of the rifle battalion continue fulfilling their tasks, holding the lines and demonstrating resilience and endurance.
