Russian pro-war Telegram channels are spreading yet another fabrication — allegedly, servicemen of Ukraine’s 34th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade are “seizing stoves and warm clothing” from civilians in Kherson.

The source of this so-called “sensation” is the alleged “anti-fascist underground of Kherson” — an entity that exists solely in the imagination of Russian propagandists and has no real confirmation of its activities.

A classic genre: anonymous “eyewitnesses”, no photos, no videos, no statements from alleged victims, and no concrete data — only loud wording and emotional accusations.

Why This Is Fake

As of 29 January 2026, there are:

  • no official complaints from Kherson residents about such “incidents”;
  • no confirmations from law enforcement;
  • no materials from international or Ukrainian human rights organizations;
  • no photographic or video evidence.

Instead, there is a well-known Russian information-attack scheme:

invent a crime → attribute it to the Ukrainian Armed Forces → escalate it emotionally via Telegram → present it as “the voice of the people”.

The “Anti-Fascist Underground” No One Has Ever Seen

The so-called “anti-fascist underground of Kherson” is a typical propaganda phantom.

In real life, Kherson knows another underground — the Ukrainian underground, which:

  • transmitted coordinates of occupying forces;
  • destroyed enemy logistics;
  • assisted the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the liberation of the city.

Meanwhile, the “anti-fascists” from Russian TG channels appear only when it is necessary to urgently invent another story to justify Russia’s own crimes.

Who Benefits From the Fake About “Looting”?

Disseminating such fabrications has a clear pragmatic goal:

  • to discredit Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the eyes of civilians;
  • to sow distrust between the military and residents of frontline regions;
  • to divert attention from the real crimes of the Russian army — looting, robbery, destruction of housing, deportations.

The irony is that it was the Russian military who systematically stole home appliances, clothing, food, and even… toilets from Kherson homes during the occupation. This has been documented and confirmed by testimony, photos, videos, and investigations by international media.

Reality Instead of Fabrications

The Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kherson provide:

  • assistance to civilians after shelling;
  • evacuation of people from dangerous areas;
  • delivery of humanitarian aid;
  • defense of the city from constant Russian strikes from the temporarily occupied left bank.

And it is this reality that irritates Russian propaganda so much that it is forced to invent “stoves” no one has ever seen and “robberies” that never happened.

Fake as a Means of Self-Justification

By spreading such informational injections, Russian propaganda attempts to:

  • blur the concept of responsibility;
  • equate the aggressor and the victim;
  • justify its own crimes against Ukrainians.

But fakes have short lives — unlike the truth, which is documented, recorded, and eventually becomes part of history, with names, dates, and verdicts.

The story about “looting by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kherson” is yet another informational dummy of Russian propaganda — without evidence, without facts, without real people.

But with the familiar handwriting of those who have been robbing, destroying, and killing for years — and are now trying to shift the blame onto those who defend.
