Facing a shortage of armored vehicles, russians often resort to using civilian motorcycles and quad bikes, relying on their speed and maneuverability.
However, drones of the Defense Forces of Ukraine respond faster, act more precisely, and leave the enemy with minimal chances to maneuver.
Ukrainian unmanned systems are even faster and more maneuverable, while Ukrainian drone pilots and operators are significantly more skilled than russian motorcyclists.
This was stated in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform by Serhii Hrek, call sign “Sun”, Chief of Staff of the 4th Mechanized Battalion of the Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.
— In the area of responsibility of the 4th Mechanized Battalion of the Presidential Brigade, the enemy continues to use tactics involving small assault groups on light motorized vehicles — motorcycles and quad bikes.
According to available information, the occupiers use these civilian vehicles, counting on speed and maneuverability, he said.
The tasks the enemy attempts to carry out may involve not only assault actions but also reconnaissance or logistics.
— Such equipment is used to deliver infantry, ammunition, or conduct reconnaissance before the main phase of an assault.
However, the lack of protection makes motorcycle groups vulnerable to modern means of destruction employed by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The published video captures a combat episode in which an FPV drone of the “Presidential” unit successfully struck an enemy motorcycle involved in an attempted rapid breakthrough toward our positions, the officer commented on footage recently published on the battalion’s Telegram channel.
The enemy’s bet on speed and maneuverability did not work, as Ukrainian UAVs proved even faster and more agile thanks to their high performance characteristics and the skill of Presidential Brigade pilots.
— FPV drones actively used by our brigade’s units demonstrate their effectiveness precisely against such targets.
The operator adjusts the flight in real time, enabling precise strikes against moving objects — even those traveling at high speed.
The destruction of motorcycles and quad bikes disrupts the enemy’s plans for rapid engagement and effective assault actions, the serviceman explained.
Overall, the effective actions of the Defense Forces’ fighters allow for successful counteraction against the enemy, thwarting any attempts at assault operations.
— In general, the enemy’s attempts to compensate for the lack of armored vehicles with light motorized equipment yield no results.
Ukrainian servicemembers of the Presidential Brigade promptly adapt to changes in enemy tactics, destroying manpower and mobility assets even on the approaches to positions.
Thanks to this, our brigade continues to confidently hold the defense and inflict significant losses on the enemy, — Serhii Hrek concluded.
