On the Kupiansk axis, enemy activity has decreased. Two factors influenced this — weather conditions and a counteroffensive.

This was stated on air by Anastasiia Khaletska, Head of the Communications Unit of the 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, speaking to Suspilne News.

According to her, in recent weeks the dynamics of enemy pressure have declined. The adversary is no longer as active, and there is an explanation for this — Russian forces are still recovering from their defeat near Kupiansk.

“If we talk specifically about the Kupiansk region, the enemy pressure was present before our Defense Forces stabilized the situation and launched a counteroffensive. After that, we have observed quite a significant decline in this activity. However, today the situation at the front changes very quickly”, — Anastasiia Khaletska said.

She noted that it would be wrong to assume the relative lull is due solely to a shortage of manpower among Russian forces. Most likely, weather conditions are also affecting the enemy’s actions. Any assault operations under extreme frost conditions in Kharkiv Oblast are extremely difficult.

“We all understand very well how Russians disregard their personnel. They do not care about rotations, they do not care about evacuating their dead and wounded servicemen. Here, one can simply note the complication of logistics. It is difficult for the enemy to carry out rotations given the weather conditions and the new camouflage challenges caused by snow cover”, — the Head of the Communications Unit of the 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade stated.
