Oleksandra used to be a project manager, and now she is a drone pilot with the call sign “Bortnyk” in the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.
She shared her story on the brigade’s official page.
“My children are already grown up, I evacuated them to a safe place and went to serve. At first, it was a shock. We went through all the stages: non-acceptance, denial, and so on. Now it’s okay. I can’t say they didn’t support me, but for them it was a real shock. They didn’t expect me to do this”, — Oleksandra said.
