More than 80% of enemy targets are destroyed by drones, the absolute majority of which are domestically produced.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the presentation of the initiative to assess the effectiveness of drone units, “E-Points.”
The Head of State thanked Ukrainian warriors for effective defense of Ukraine, destruction of enemy targets, verification of results, and operational and reliable information from the battlefield.
“Artillery still matters now, but in a different way. Personnel, and first and foremost our infantry, perform fundamental tasks. But the war itself is undergoing such an evolution, and everything is becoming extremely dependent on another important element — on who is the fastest and strongest in the use of technologies, in changing technologies, and in truthful verification of what is happening on the battlefield”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Last year alone, drones hit nearly 820,000 targets. Each of these strikes is recorded, which helps not only with verification of hits but also with the functioning of the bonus evaluation system for military performance. Electronic points can be exchanged by units for drones, electronic warfare systems, other equipment, and gear on the Brave1 Market marketplace.
“We have points for every hit — you know this from your own experience. Our electronic bonus system works to scale defense results. In December, our units achieved a result of 35,000 eliminated occupiers. Thank you for this result”, — the Head of State noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of continuing to develop protection against Russian “Shaheds” and other enemy drones, and that the number of successful interceptions must increase significantly.
For successful and effective military service, the President awarded soldiers of unmanned systems units with state honors. Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Orders of the Gold Star to Heroes of Ukraine Oleh Huit and Yurii Fedorenko.
It is noted that Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Huit, commander of the 427th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Rarog”, participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), and with the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion defended Luhansk region. In the summer of 2022, he purchased the first drones and established their operation within a platoon.
At the beginning of 2023, he created a separate strike drone company, which has now transformed into the 427th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment. Its soldiers took part in battles for Bakhmut, Avdiivka, New York, and Chasiv Yar. Over the past nine months, about 12,000 targets were hit under Oleh Huit’s command.
Major Yurii Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Achilles”, participated in the ATO, and since 2022 — in the defense of Kyiv and battles in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. He was the first among commanders of Ukraine’s Defense Forces units to organize systematic use of unmanned aerial vehicles for aerial reconnaissance and for providing fire adjustment for artillery and other means of destruction. Since June 2025, the unit under Yurii Fedorenko’s command has hit more than 30,000 enemy targets.
In addition, the Head of State also awarded Orders “For Merit” III Class, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III Class, “For Courage” II and III Class, and the distinction “Personal Firearm” to soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
