‘Leads the Group Point by Point on an Offline Map’: Enemy Assault Troops in the Southern Slobozhanskyi Direction Are Guided by ‘Navigators’
Trying to infiltrate unnoticed into the near rear of the Defense Forces in the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, Russians move in small groups of up to four infantrymen.
Each such group includes a so-called guide who uses an offline map with marked points.
This was stated during an ArmyTV livestream on January 23 by the chief sergeant of the UAV company of the 1st Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi, call sign “Viking”.
“Speaking about infiltration tactics, that is, the seeping of enemy infantry, in our direction this mainly involves movement in small groups of up to four servicemen of the Russian occupation forces.
Within the group, there is usually one so-called guide who leads the group along pre-marked points on an offline map. Given that enemy infantry is unfamiliar with the terrain, such advances mostly fail, and the occupiers end up as fertilizer on our land”, — he said.
The enemy primarily relies on manpower both during infiltration attempts and when establishing logistics.
The use of ground robotic complexes to supply forward enemy positions is minimal.
“Considering the enemy’s main tactic, which is the desire to achieve assigned tasks as inconspicuously as possible, the use of ground robotic systems and heavy bombers by the enemy in our area of responsibility is minimal.
An important role in this is played by active surveillance by our soldiers and the destruction, including of UAV assets, of all such enemy means long before they approach our line of contact”, — the serviceman reported.
Instead, Russians more often use conventional small bomber drones without an explosive charge.
“It is worth noting that instead of heavy bombers and ground robotic systems for logistical support of Russian infantry, they actively use bombers without an explosive warhead.
That is, they deliver packages without an explosive component to their troops, directly striking their positions but without detonation.
Although such a tactic can be effective, we track such activity and constantly strike both the recipients and the delivery means”, — Viking assured.
