President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a report from the Ukrainian delegation following trilateral negotiations in the United Arab Emirates involving the United States and Russia.
This was stated in a message published on the President’s Telegram channel.
“There was a report from our delegation: the meetings in the Emirates have concluded. This is the first format like this in quite a long time — two-day trilateral meetings. A great deal was discussed, and importantly, the talks were constructive”, — the message says.
The negotiations included military representatives of all three sides. From the Ukrainian side, the participants today were Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, Andrii Hnatov, Davyd Arakhamia, Serhii Kyslytsia, and Vadym Skibitskyi. From the American side — Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Dan Driscoll, Alex Grynkewich, and Josh Grunbaum. From the Russian side — representatives of military intelligence and their armed forces.
“The key focus of the discussions was the possible parameters for ending the war. I greatly appreciate that there is an understanding of the need for American monitoring and control over the process of ending the war and ensuring real security”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, the American side raised the issue of possible formats for establishing the parameters for ending the war and the security conditions necessary for this.
Following the meetings held over these days, all sides agreed to report in their capitals on each aspect of the negotiations and to coordinate further steps with their leaders. Military representatives identified a list of issues for a possible next meeting.
“Provided there is readiness to move forward — and Ukraine is ready — further meetings will take place, potentially as early as next week. I expect a personal report from the delegation upon its return. I am grateful to the UAE and personally to the President of the Emirates for their mediation and willingness to host further meetings. Ukraine is working for peace and security. Thank you to everyone who helps!” — Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
