Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov has appointed Serhii (Flash) Beskrestnov as an advisor on technological areas of defense.

The head of the defense ministry announced this on Sunday, January 25, on his social media.

The minister emphasized that in modern technological warfare, it is critically important to understand the direction of innovation development and anticipate the enemy’s plans by creating products capable of changing the course of events on the battlefield.

According to him, this is why the field must be strengthened by people who have already demonstrated real capacity to carry out such tasks.

“Serhii (Flash) Beskrestnov is one of the strongest practical experts in the fields of drones, electronic warfare, and analysis of enemy solutions. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, ‘Flash’ has worked directly at the front and conducted training for military personnel in the hottest spots.

He was the first to speak about Russia’s use of FPV drones with machine vision and jet-powered Shaheds. His current main focus is systemic solutions against Russian strike and reconnaissance UAVs. We must reduce the effectiveness of enemy attacks and protect our people. The development of electronic warfare is critically important — in war, the one who adapts faster wins”, — Mykhailo Fedorov explained.

He added that in parallel, Serhii Beskrestnov will also work on other technological areas of defense, including:

  • Work with captured enemy equipment

  • Analysis, logistics, study of enemy solutions, and turning this experience into our advantage

  • Expert evaluation of new military developments

“We need not ‘ideas on paper’, but solutions that actually work in combat right now. Today, war is mathematics, technology, and speed of decision-making. We must not just react, but build a system that constantly learns and becomes stronger. That is exactly why we are strengthening the team with new leaders. We are moving systematically, quickly, and working for results”, — the Minister of Defense of Ukraine stated.
