In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducts assaults mainly with small infantry groups, sometimes using light vehicles.
This was stated on the air of Army TV by an operational planning officer of the separate special-purpose unmanned systems detachment Typhoon of the National Guard of Ukraine, call sign “Kos”.
Some enemy assault troops have high-quality equipment — Kevlar body armor, camouflage suits, anti-thermal cloaks.
“The situation, as always, is difficult but under control. The enemy advances in small groups of two to three personnel. Plus light motorized vehicles — motorcycles, quad bikes. On the ‘rear pullback’, on the approaches to Pokrovsk, there is more armored equipment, tanks and MLRS are encountered”, — he said.
Some enemy assault troops have high-quality equipment with a high level of protection.
“I must admit that they are well equipped, stitched from head to toe in Kevlar. Sometimes it takes two to three fragmentation-explosive FPV drones to destroy one of them. They also have camouflage suits that work well. In addition, at night and in fog they use some kind of cloaks that protect them from thermal radiation. Therefore, even with a thermal imager it is difficult to detect them”, — the officer reported.
At the same time, the enemy’s use of tents as a means of camouflage from drones with thermal imaging cameras has not proven effective.
“We encountered this several times. We saw it in the middle of a field; among ruins we did not see it. But in the middle of a field it looked extremely strange. Therefore, I cannot note high effectiveness (of this camouflage method — ed.)”, — Kos explained.
