Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov held a meeting with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine Julie Davis and discussed organizing joint analytics on the use of key American systems.
He reported this on his channel on January 23.
“I thanked the United States for its comprehensive support for Ukraine — military and diplomatic — and for its readiness to deepen our cooperation. I also separately emphasized the importance of the PURL initiative, which provides the Defense Forces with critically important weapons”, — Mykhailo Fedorov wrote.
He spoke about work with partners to continue PURL and another American mechanism — JUMPSTART — which ensures long-term supply of critical U.S.-made weapons.
According to him, for air defense it is crucial to obtain a clear forecast of missile supplies for this year as soon as possible and to build reliable deliveries for years ahead.
Mykhailo Fedorov and Julie Davis discussed organizing joint analytics on the use of key American systems — Patriot, HIMARS, and others — based on battlefield data.
“This will allow us to jointly develop these systems and make them even more effective. Another priority is laser-guided artillery shells, which significantly increase accuracy and strike depth. We are counting on U.S. support in this matter” , —the minister stated.
They also focused separately on the implementation of the large-scale Drone Deal agreement.
“We are working to allow Americans to directly test Ukrainian drones — without excessive bureaucracy. I am grateful for the constructive conversation and systematic support for Ukraine”, — Mykhailo Fedorov concluded.
