A Special Operations Forces unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is testing a promising modular individual protection platform. The system is being tested by a combat medic of the 6th Separate SOF Regiment with the call sign “Shtirlits”.

This was reported by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The key feature of the new system is mechanical unloading of the spine. A rigid structure connects the rear plate carrier panel with the combat belt, redistributing the weight of armor and ammunition from the shoulders to the pelvis and legs.

This reduces spinal compression and back strain during long marches.

The practical effect is increased endurance of the serviceman, allowing the fighter to maintain effectiveness longer on the march and during missions in difficult conditions.

Developers paid special attention to the level of protection. The system provides an increased area of ballistic coverage, particularly in the occipital, neck, and shoulder zones. This is critically important in conditions of intensive use of artillery and strike FPV drones.

Despite its massive external appearance, the platform does not restrict mobility. It allows full weapon operation, maneuvering, and provision of pre-medical aid in combat conditions.

The unit emphasizes that this is not about comfort, but about preserving the fighter’s resource for the main thing — accomplishing the mission.
