President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a special energy coordination meeting involving all government officials responsible for dealing with the consequences of the Russian strike.

He announced this on January 20.

According to him, the most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv, parts of Kyiv Oblast, and Kharkiv. The situation in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, and Odesa was also discussed. Restoration work continues in Rivne Oblast.

The Commander of the Air Force briefed the President on the use of Ukrainian air defense systems and the first evidence of updated enemy tactics.

“I instructed the military to immediately contact our partners, primarily the United States, and provide detailed information on changes in Russian strike tactics and the specific focus on energy infrastructure. We will also continue working on requests for air defense missiles — time matters for every request and every supply element”, — Zelenskyy wrote.

The Minister of Internal Affairs reported on firefighting efforts at the struck facilities and available equipment reserves for the capital.

According to available information, at least some of the missiles used by Russia in this strike were produced this year, once again highlighting the importance of effective sanctions and blocking supplies of critical components.

The President instructed the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Energy to provide a full regional recovery timeline and required resources by 6:00 p.m. today.

“All efforts of state and private energy companies must be directed toward ensuring the fastest possible recovery for Ukrainians. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine”, — the President concluded.
