According to the results of 2025, more than 33,000 servicemembers received rehabilitation assistance in healthcare facilities within the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In particular, 10.1 thousand servicemembers received assistance during the acute rehabilitation period, and 23 thousand during the post-acute and long-term rehabilitation periods.
According to the Comprehensive Report of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the Implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine Until 2030, in 2025 specialists of the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted seven monitoring visits to rehabilitation facilities within the MoD system.
It was established that assistance is provided in accordance with the requirements of current legislation, and short- and long-term SMART goals are defined individually for each patient.
To ensure systematic monitoring of the implementation of individual rehabilitation plans, regular meetings of multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams are held. These teams assess interim rehabilitation results and adjust goals taking into account the dynamics of the patient’s functional condition.
If necessary, relatives of the servicemember, close associates, and other interested parties are involved in the discussion process.
Rehabilitation assistance to servicemembers during the acute rehabilitation period is provided in rehabilitation rooms included in the staffing tables of military hospitals.
Post-acute and long-term rehabilitation is provided at the Military Medical Clinical Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, rehabilitation departments of five military medical clinical centers, six rehabilitation hospitals, and four military units. This organization ensures continuity of the patient’s rehabilitation pathway.
