The NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC) defined its priorities for 2026 in its program approved at a meeting of the JATEC Senior Supervisory Board.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on January 14.

Among the priorities are innovation, analytics and artificial intelligence, education and training, medicine, and interoperability with the Alliance.

“The combat experience gained by Ukraine will help ensure more effective implementation of each of the defined priorities and strengthen the capabilities of both Ukraine and the Alliance”, — the Ministry of Defense stated.

This refers to a mutually beneficial exchange of expertise, in which NATO provides analytical tools and standardization mechanisms, while Ukraine shares practical innovations and tactics tested in combat.

At the meeting, a decision was also made to ensure funding for JATEC projects through the Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) Trust Fund for Ukraine.

“This will make it possible to attract more resources for the implementation of long-term projects aimed at developing Ukraine’s capabilities. At the same time, JATEC’s budget will be focused on fast and practical results within the year, ‘here and now’”, — the statement said.

As noted by the Ministry of Defense, another important decision for JATEC’s functioning in the current year was made: the Supervisory Board determined a further plan for developing a secure information exchange system between Ukraine and NATO.

As a result, in 2026, a system of secure and rapid communication will be deployed between Ukraine and JATEC.
