On the Sloviansk axis, Russian occupation forces continue to assault Defense Forces positions in small groups and attempt to infiltrate the near rear.

This tactic has remained unchanged for the enemy for about two years, while no signs of preparation for large-scale offensive actions in this sector have been detected.

This was stated live on the national telethon “United News” by Maksym Butolin, Chief Sergeant of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa.

“We have some pressure on Riznykivka, some pressure on Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka. But in principle, this pressure has never stopped. The enemy understands that our rear settlements are used as logistical hubs. Therefore, pressure on them has always existed. Essentially, nothing has changed”, — he said.

The occupiers mostly act according to their old, familiar pattern.

“The enemy’s actions over the past few years have been template-based. Indeed, their small-group tactics and infiltration into our positions bring them certain benefits. In principle, they have not changed it for several years”, — the serviceman explained.

At the same time, no signs of preparation for large-scale offensives in this sector have been detected.

“At present, there is essentially no such preparation for large-scale offensives. Of course, the enemy is pulling up reserves. They use a four-battalion system, where three battalions are on the frontline, and one battalion is always in recovery and ready to replace a unit that has suffered losses and lost some of its combat capabilities”, — Maksym Butolin reported.

The chief sergeant suggested that the Russians will continue attempts at a “creeping” advance with small groups on the Sloviansk axis, without large-scale assault actions.

“Therefore, essentially, having certain successes in other sections of our defense zone, I think that for now we will have relative calm here and this kind of ‘creeping’ advance by small groups”, — he said.
