Russian occupation forces attempted to eliminate their own servicemen who decided to surrender to fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, which published testimony from one of the captured soldiers along with video footage showing Russians attempting to kill him and another accomplice using FPV drones and artillery.
According to the occupier, he went to war against Ukraine for money.
“His story has a classic set of excuses: he wanted to pay off a mortgage, didn’t understand the danger, didn’t kill anyone, was just following orders… Then it gets more interesting. Arman followed the ‘Kniazivskyi’ Mavic drone in order to surrender after our brigade’s drone operators destroyed his position. But the Russian ‘brothers’ launched a real hunt for their ‘countryman’: they shelled him with mortars and attacked him with drones. Still, Arman got lucky — he managed to reach the Kniazivski positions”, — the commentary to the released footage says.
