A fighter of the “Steel Border” Brigade with the callsign “Pastor” spent 94 days in positions, while “Korea” spent 131 days without rotation. During this time, they repelled six enemy assaults and held their sector.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
“Korea and Pastor are fighters who returned after months in positions without breaks. Behind them are days without pauses, relief, or backup options. The pressure was systematic and brutal, aimed at breaking the defense. It did not succeed”, — the statement said.
Each rotation there is a separate, carefully planned operation. Withdrawal is no less dangerous than holding the line.
“To replace the fighters, withdrawal must be gradual, under cover, with risk at every step. That is why their exit from positions stretched over nearly two weeks”, — the Border Guard Service noted.
During missions, “Korea” sustained a gunshot wound.
“This is the moment when pain and fear have every right to stop a person. But he stayed and continued to hold the line with his brothers-in-arms. Because the frontline is held not by words, but by those who do not give up. They did not call it a feat. They simply did their job as they know how and as they believe is right. Day after day. Assault after assault”, — the statement said.
“Korea” and “Pastor” are currently undergoing treatment and rest, recovering from what they endured.
“And as long as such people exist — alive, stubborn, unbroken — one can be certain: Ukraine stands. This is what our defense is built upon”, — the border guards concluded.
