In Sumy Oblast, the invaders are trying to hold the seized border village of Hrabovske.
This was stated on Suspilne TV by Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Trehubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Grouping.
“The Russians pushed in there and are now conducting remote mining to prevent Ukrainian counterattacks. It seems to me they planned to move further, to advance into the Sumy region. But it didn’t work, and now they are turning Hrabovske into a small outpost, even though it is right on the border”, — Viktor Trehubov said.
According to him, similar assault attempts were made by the Russians in other locations as well — it was a general attempt by the enemy to probe the Sumy region along the southern sector.
“They became active about two weeks ago. Hrabovske became such a point because it is directly on the border and became known due to an incident involving the capture of civilians”, — Trehubov explained.
He added that this was not infiltration by small groups — a fairly large group of Russian troops entered at once.
“More than a hundred personnel entered Hrabovske itself, given the short logistics shoulder… Now they mainly use drones there, and the enemy is conserving its equipment”, — Viktor Trehubov said.
