In the first days of the new year, Russian occupation forces regrouped in Kharkiv and Sumy regions and have now resumed active operations.
This was stated on air by Viktor Trehubov, Lieutenant Colonel and Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Grouping, during a broadcast on Suspilne.
“The Russians had a certain pause for regrouping, and now we are observing that it is gradually coming to an end. The intensity is increasing, and Russian losses are growing. In our area of responsibility, about 250 enemy personnel were lost over the past day”, — Viktor Trehubov said.
According to him, Russians are trying to probe the border in Sumy region, are actively pushing around the city of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, attempting to attack the Ukrainian bridgehead east of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk direction, and are also active in the Lyman direction.
“As of now, they are advancing as before using infiltration tactics, seeping in with small groups. This is not a large-scale offensive like one or two years ago. It is a constant accumulation of small groups and a constant search for gaps in Ukrainian defenses along a very long line of contact”, — said the Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Grouping.
