The President awards medics, energy workers, rescuers, civic activists, volunteers, and educators

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the first decree of 2026 awarding state honors to 53 Ukrainians from different regions of the country.

This was reported on January 1 by the Presidential website.

Twelve award recipients are from Kyiv and the Kyiv region, six from the Dnipropetrovsk region, four from the Kherson region, three from the Khmelnytskyi region, two each from Volyn, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions, and one each from Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Cherkasy regions, and Bukovyna.

Among those awarded are medics, energy workers, cultural workers, civic activists and volunteers, municipal workers, veterans, educators, a trolleybus driver, rescuers, and two children.

Russian invaders are increasing the use of guided aerial bombs of various types, and in 2026 this will be one of the main threats. Last year, the Russians used 60,000 such bombs.
