Russian invaders are increasing the use of guided aerial bombs of various types, and in 2026 this will be one of the main threats. Last year, the Russians used 60,000 such bombs.
This was stated on the United News national telethon by Colonel Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Directorate of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Every month, the enemy increases the use of guided aerial bombs. These are weapons the enemy has been using for about two years, and the trend is upward. We understand that there are not enough missiles in the world to counter these bombs. However, there are already successful countermeasures against them in various sectors”, — Yurii Ihnat said.
According to him, the main countermeasure should be the fight against enemy aviation. “It is necessary to push the carriers of such bombs farther away”, — Yurii Ihnat added.
