“It would be strange not to hit”: russian infantry advance lightly on the Pokrovsk Axis

On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian troops mostly attack in small groups. The occupiers use thermal imaging equipment, but mostly of poor quality.

This was stated during an Army TV stream by Senior Sergeant Yevhenii Marchenko, Acting Head of the Reconnaissance Group of the Headquarters of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.

“The enemy, of course, directly uses weather conditions. It is snowing now, with fog. We detect them by tracks and destroy them very confidently”, — Yevhenii Marchenko said.

He added that such Russian groups may also use thermal cloaks and camouflage suits.

“Mostly, these are not of very good quality. Our reconnaissance assets still detect them. Only in very bad weather conditions do we see them poorly. In fact, regarding thermal imaging equipment, I would say they are not very well supplied. Essentially, their equipment is more standard, like that of regular infantry”, — the servicemember explained.

According to him, the enemy also attempts to use ground robotic systems, but farther from the front line.

“Quad bikes and motorcycles have been observed. They try to deliver supplies closer to the front. But mainly they move on foot or use drones. That’s how they supply their positions. They send infantry more or less ‘lightly equipped’. What we have observed is that they arrive almost empty. And they are supplied mainly using UAVs”, — Yevhenii Marchenko said.
