Starting in 2026, military units will be able to purchase components for drones using funds from the general budget.
This was announced by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on December 30.
“From January 1, we are expanding the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the development of unmanned systems. Previously, units could purchase drone components only using special fund resources”, — he wrote.
From now on, components for unmanned systems can be purchased using all state funding allocated to units for the UAV direction, including the general fund.
According to him, thanks to the additional resources, soldiers will be able to quickly complete and adapt drones for specific tasks.
“We continue to create conditions for Ukraine’s technological advantage on the battlefield”, — Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
