President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, during which the parties discussed the current diplomatic situation and further support for Ukraine.

The Head of the Ukrainian state reported this in a post on his page.

The President of Ukraine informed the Estonian Prime Minister about the current details of negotiations with the American side and emphasized the importance of maximum engagement of partners to stop the bloodshed and achieve a just peace.

Special attention was paid to further cooperation and Estonia’s role in supporting Ukraine. In particular, it was noted that from January 1, Estonia will coordinate the work of countries in the NB8 format.

The NB8 (Nordic–Baltic Eight) format brings together eight countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic states — Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. It is a platform for political and security coordination that plays an active role in supporting Ukraine, particularly on defense issues, sanctions policy against the Russian Federation, and interaction with NATO and the EU.

The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects within the SAFE program and the importance of the PURL program, which in particular makes it possible to strengthen air defense and protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The President of Ukraine thanked the Estonian side for its consistent assistance since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression and its readiness to continue supporting Ukraine where it is most needed.
