From Kherson to Kursk Oblast — combat medic Anatolii completed four combat deployments
Anatolii Kasiian has been serving in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as a combat medic for eight years.
His story was featured in a report by Izmail Television dated December 24.
“After graduating from medical college, I joined the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and began serving back in 2017. I served until 2021, then resigned, but half a year later I was mobilized again because I couldn’t stay at home during the full-scale invasion”, — he says.
The border guard has been deployed to various combat directions. In total, he has completed four combat deployments. In addition to the Kherson and Donetsk regions, he has also been to Kursk Oblast and Sumy Oblast.
“Overall, I’ve had four combat deployments, and I didn’t miss a single one. We returned, rested a bit, recovered, and then went somewhere else again”, — recalls Anatolii Kasiian.
Between deployments, the border guard completed courses for combat medics and sanitary instructors in the United Kingdom. He notes that the most important thing for a combat medic is to remain calm and composed in any situation.
“A combat medic has to be very calm and cold-minded about everything. You really need to stay cool, and then you’ll be able to cope with all of this even on a psychological level”, — believes Anatolii Kasiian.
