The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published archival video footage of a combat operation carried out by special forces in the Pokrovsk direction in November 2025.
The material was released on the social media platforms of the Main Directorate of Intelligence.
The video shows episodes of a special operation conducted by fighters of the Black Winter Group unit as part of the Timur Special Unit of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence.
During the mission, Defense Intelligence aviation was used for the rapid deployment of an airborne assault force and to strengthen defenses in a designated sector of the front.
According to intelligence officials, the operation was critical for holding positions near Pokrovsk and allowed time to be gained for the arrival of main units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The significance of this combat mission was previously explained by the Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov. In an interview, he emphasized that thanks to the actions of the special forces, the enemy’s plans to capture the city were thwarted.
“We managed to gain precious time so that the main units of the Armed Forces could approach the city to reinforce it. After that, everyone stopped saying that the city had been taken”, — Kyrylo Budanov noted.
The Defense Intelligence also emphasized the important role played by aerial reconnaissance specialists and FPV drone operators, who detected and destroyed Russian occupiers.
The Black Winter Group special forces demonstrated a high level of professionalism, coordination, and bravery, which enabled the successful completion of the combat mission in one of the most difficult areas of the front.
