President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, spoke about the course of diplomatic efforts and responded to another round of strikes by the occupiers against critical infrastructure.

The Head of State published the address on social media.

The President said the day began with another Russian strike on Ukrainian territory. The main target of the attack once again was energy infrastructure. As a result of the shelling, there are killed and wounded.

Throughout the day, repair crews have been working at energy facilities to restore electricity supply. According to the Head of State, maximum efforts are being made to ensure Ukrainians have electricity for Christmas, despite Russia’s attempts to disrupt the holidays.

The President emphasized that Ukraine needs international support every day — in particular, air defense missiles, funding for weapons production, and assistance to strengthen the resilience of the state.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The parties discussed details of a EUR 90 billion financial support package for Ukraine over two years.

The President called this decision historic and one that significantly strengthens Ukraine’s resilience during the war.

The Head of State heard a report from the negotiating team following meetings in the United States with representatives of President Donald Trump. Rustem Umerov and Andrii Hnatov reported on existing working drafts of agreements and the points that the Ukrainian side managed to strengthen.

The President stressed that Ukraine is in constant contact with the United States and is ready for full cooperation to achieve a final agreement. At the same time, he emphasized that it is Russia that must not disrupt the diplomatic process, and if it lacks seriousness, the world must apply additional pressure.

A phone call also took place with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. The President of Ukraine noted Finland’s consistent support and coordination with international partners.

The President heard detailed reports from the military command on the situation at the front. He thanked all Ukrainian warriors and units for active defense and the fulfillment of combat missions.

On the Kramatorsk axis, in the area of responsibility of the 56th Brigade, the enemy continues to use the so-called “creeping offensive” tactic. The advance is carried out mainly by infantry, supported by fiber-optic FPV drones. The enemy launches several hundred such drones per day in this sector.

On the Lyman axis, the situation remains difficult. The enemy does not abandon attempts to assault our forward positions with its numerous infantry. They try to “fly in” to positions on motorcycles; assaults using heavy equipment also take place.
