A total of 673 aerial attack assets, including 35 cruise missiles and three Kinzhal missiles, were used. Today, the Ukrainian army repelled another massive aerial attack. The pilots particularly distinguished themselves.
This was reported on the air of the national telethon “United News” by Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, the country once again became a victim of a massive combined strike on civilian targets. This time, operations against enemy targets were carried out “not just well, but very, very well”, especially against cruise missiles.
“34 out of 35 were shot down. The overwhelming majority were intercepted by tactical aviation pilots. It was F-16 pilots who joined today in repelling this strike, specifically against cruise missiles. Thanks to the fact that missiles — both for aircraft and ground-based systems — are being supplied, not in the quantities we would like, but still being supplied, we are able to repel such attacks”, — said the Head of the Air Force Communications Department.
Pilots of anti-aircraft drones also demonstrated good results. Yurii Ihnat also praised the work of mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units, despite the very wide geography of launches.
“Typical strikes target critical infrastructure — our substations, energy facilities, the oil and gas sector. Other targets include port infrastructure. In fact, the enemy continues attempts to cut off power to Ukraine and plunge us into blackout, especially now when frost is expected”, — Yurii Ihnat noted.
