Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal reported that today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, upon submission by the Ministry of Defense, adopted a number of decisions aimed at developing and supporting the defense industry.
The head of the defense ministry announced this on social media.
In particular, the government simplified procedures for relocation and rapid restoration of production capacities of Ukrainian defense-sector enterprises.
“Conditions are being created to supply new facilities with water, gas, heat, and electricity, as well as to build auxiliary infrastructure necessary for uninterrupted operation. Protection of sensitive security information is guaranteed”, — the Minister’s statement said.
Separately, an experimental project concerning the enterprise Motor Sich is being launched. It provides for accelerated design and construction of new facilities to fulfill state defense contracts on a 24/7 basis.
In addition, the terms for providing state financial support to defense enterprises are being specified, including partial compensation of interest and leasing payments.
According to Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, these steps are aimed at strengthening, modernizing, and scaling Ukraine’s defense industry so that the military receives everything necessary to protect the state and the lives of its citizens.
