Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine took part in the Humanitarian Innovation and Technology Summit for Mine Action (HITS25), which was held in Kraków, Republic of Poland.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on December 23.

During the event, the Ukrainian side presented an updated classification system for mine action technologies.

This system includes the following categories of demining assets:

  • ground-based;
  • underwater;
  • aerial;
  • auxiliary;
  • specialized.

The system was developed by the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety and is already being used in testing, technical evaluation, and the integration of innovations into the national mine action system.

The Ukrainian delegation also presented approaches to creating a unified ecosystem of UTTC testing grounds and mechanisms for integrating advanced demining technologies into the practical activities of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Participation in the summit made it possible to:

  • obtain information from partners on new technological solutions for the detection and neutralization of explosive ordnance;
  • hold working meetings with international organizations on developing Ukraine’s capabilities in underwater demining;
  • agree on further visits by partners to Ukraine to assess joint projects;
  • present Ukraine’s position on key challenges and needs in the field of mine action within the international expert community.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues active cooperation with international partners in implementing innovations, developing standards, and enhancing operational capabilities in the field of mine action.
