The occupiers have equipped the drone with Starlink and a camera with three-axis stabilization.

This was reported on December 22 by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the “Components in Weapons” section of the War&Sanctions portal, where an interactive diagram, components, and electronic parts of the Russian UAV “Molniya-2R” were published.

Previously, HUR reported that Russia was using the aircraft-type FPV kamikaze drone “Molniya,” launched from a special catapult and guided to the target by an operator.

Later, the enemy began using the “Molniya-2” modification with two wing-mounted engines, an improved fuselage, extended flight range, and an enhanced warhead.

A new adaptation of this UAV has now been recorded — the “Molniya-2R”, designed for aerial reconnaissance.

For this purpose, Russian developers integrated a Raspberry Pi 5 microcomputer, as well as a Chinese Mini PC F8 branded under the Russian label Raskat (LLC “NOVYI IT PROJECT”) with licensed Windows 11 installed.

In addition to the forward-facing FPV camera, the drone received an additional Chinese SIYI ZR10 camera with tenfold optical zoom and three-axis stabilization, significantly expanding observation and targeting adjustment capabilities.

To transmit video from both cameras, telemetry, and control commands, a Starlink satellite terminal is installed onboard the “Molniya-2R”.
