Aircraft, SAM Systems and radars: “Alpha” fighters strike Russian equipment worth hundreds of millions of dollars at Belbek Airfield
Last night, long-range UAVs of the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “Alpha” successfully struck components of Russia’s air defense system at the Belbek military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The SBU reported this on December 18.
As a result of precise strikes by Ukrainian drones, the following assets were hit:
- two Nebo-SVU long-range radar detection systems (the cost of one unit is approximately USD 60–100 million);
- a 92N6 radar, which is a component of the S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile system (estimated price for the domestic market is USD 30 million, export price — USD 60 million);
- a Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile system (estimated price for the domestic market is USD 12 million, export price — USD 19 million);
- a MiG-31 aircraft with a full combat load (estimated price — USD 30–50 million depending on configuration and armament).
“The SBU continues its effective work to destroy air defense systems in Crimea that protect key military and logistical facilities of the occupiers. The elimination of components of this layered system significantly weakens the enemy’s defense and military capabilities in the Crimean direction”, — the statement said.
