Russia’s attempt to take advantage of winter fog and low visibility in the Dobropillia sector ended in failure even before reaching Ukrainian positions. A motorized infantry assault that the occupiers had planned as a rapid breakthrough was stopped and destroyed by the Defense Forces halfway to its objective.
This was reported on the page of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.
According to the information provided, the enemy attempted to attack within the corps’ area of responsibility, deploying motorized infantry groups on quad bikes. A total of 16 quad bikes were involved in the assault, but not a single one reached its designated target.
The assault group was detected while still approaching the Defense Forces’ positions. What followed was predictable for the enemy: coordinated actions by unmanned systems units, artillery, and pre-prepared mine and engineering obstacles completely thwarted the attack.
As a result, the Russian offensive stalled without ever entering the phase of fighting for positions. The winter “stroll”, calculated to rely on the element of surprise, became the final vivid episode of this attempted breakthrough for its participants.
