A number of updates have been introduced to the “Impulse” system for precise accounting of military personnel, aimed at developing reporting, working with staffing structures, and processing large volumes of data under load.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Expanded reporting and background document generation

In the new version, users have gained the ability to generate additional types of reports covering:

  • staffing levels of positions;

  • personnel strength;

  • movements of military personnel.

Asynchronous report generation has also been implemented: documents are generated in the background, allowing users to continue working in the system without waiting for data processing to be completed.

It is also noted that large reports with the processing of significant volumes of information can now be created, which increases the speed and resilience of the system under intensive use.

Faster transition to new staffing structures

A separate block of updates concerns work with staffing structures. A new staffing import function has been added to the staffing editor, enabling military units to quickly transition to updated organizational structures.

Data can be uploaded directly from electronic personnel accounting journal files (EJPAJ), which significantly reduces the amount of manual work for users.

Expanded data import

The system also now supports:

  • importing education records via Toolkit;

  • improvements to the education data registration section;

  • importing rank change history;

  • expanded import of EJPAJ tabs for initial data population;

  • importing data on permanent, temporarily arrived, and absent personnel.

Further development

The Ministry of Defense notes that further development of functionality is planned in upcoming updates — including making changes to staffing structures, expanding automatic data population and report generation, as well as introducing new tools for data handling and document creation.

“Impulse” is the official system for accounting military personnel and is gradually being deployed as the technological foundation of a modern, systematic approach to personnel data accounting and management in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The system was initially rolled out in the Air Assault Forces and the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 100 military units have transitioned to daily operations using “Impulse”.
