Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, made a working visit to military command bodies that continue the operation and are holding the defense of the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration.
This was stated in his message on December 13.
“The situation remains difficult. The enemy is trying to increase pressure on our defensive positions and is transferring additional reserves here. Based on the results of the briefings, I уточнив (clarified) the tasks for the commanders of army corps and units holding the lines on the Pokrovsk axis”, — he wrote.
According to him, specific steps have been identified to strengthen the defense, including maintaining the stable operation of critical logistics routes, increasing the effectiveness of firepower, improving coordination between units, and ensuring that formations are supplied with everything they need.
“We remain committed to the tactics of active defense. This involves improving the operational situation, conducting localized operations to push the enemy out of certain areas, and creating conditions for subsequent maneuvers by our forces”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi noted.
He emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers, commanders, and leaders are aware of their responsibility and are достойно (duly) carrying out the tasks assigned to them.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine awarded servicemen with high state and departmental honors, including the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 1st Class; the honorary breast badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Cross of Merit”, “Steel Cross”, “Silver Cross”, and the “Cross ‘Military Honor’”.
“This is recognition of their dedication to the defense of Ukraine and their high level of professionalism. Once again, I sincerely thank every soldier for their resilience, bravery, and effectiveness in destroying the Russian occupiers”, — he added.
