Defence industry manufacturers have received more than UAH 1.5 billion in budget support to restore their operations.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, on 9 December.

According to him, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defence, the mechanism for financing defence enterprises affected by enemy attacks was updated this summer. This made it possible to promptly allocate funds to eliminate the consequences of shelling and restore production.

“In parallel, we are developing a comprehensive action plan to protect the domestic defence industry from future strikes”, — the Minister of Defence of Ukraine stated.

It provides for:

  • changing the geography of production;

  • relocating (duplicating) the capabilities of critically important enterprises;

  • moving production facilities from areas where the Russian army uses glide bombs (KABs);

  • constructing underground production complexes.

“We are working to ensure that the Ukrainian defence industry has safe conditions for development, and that Ukrainian soldiers are provided with everything they need”, — Denys Shmyhal added.
