Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the forty participants of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which included leaders of European countries and the European Union..
The text of the address was published on the President’s website on the evening of 25 November.
“I sincerely appreciate that all of you are supporting us, Ukraine, and that we are working together for our shared security.
Right now, when it comes to security, there is nothing between us that could divide us. There are no separate problems — everything affects each of us. And everyone needs full awareness.
We firmly believe: Ukraine must be involved in security decisions regarding Ukraine — this was our position in Geneva and always — Europe must be involved in security decisions regarding Europe, and the same applies to Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, other countries, and all other peoples.
And this is simply fair, and it truly works. Because when a decision is made behind the back of a country or a people, there is always a great risk that it will simply not work. And we all believe that people must decide their own future — and this, among other things, is what distinguishes us from regimes like the Moscow one.
So thank you all for moving forward together and maintaining coordination and unity.
Friends! We now have a positive result from Geneva — after the meetings and negotiations that took place there.
Ukraine has a framework developed by our teams in Geneva. This framework is on the table, and we are ready to move forward together — with the United States of America, with the personal involvement of President Trump, and with Europe, with its leaders, and with all partners who have the strength and the ability to help.
And I am ready to meet with President Trump — there are sensitive points to discuss, they still exist, and we believe that the participation of European leaders may be helpful. And let us discuss some key issues today in a closed format.
But we must also not lose touch with reality — Russia’s war against us is not in the past, it continues every day. Every day Russia takes the lives of Ukrainians. Literally last night — thank you for your warm words and support, friends — last night another massive attack on our country took place.
Therefore, we cannot relax or forget that Ukraine still needs defence support, security support, and support for our resilience — every day.
And until Russia takes real steps to reduce hostilities — real steps to roll back its war machine, steps that would clearly show that Russia is serious about ending this war of aggression — we have no right to stop working to support Ukraine, to support our people, to support our collective security.
And we have no right to scale back our activity. We must protect lives, strengthen air defence, and hold the frontline, maintain sanctions against Russia, finally direct frozen Russian assets toward strengthening Ukraine’s defence, and finally develop a functional framework for deploying, by the Coalition of the Willing, deterrence forces in Ukraine through the signing of the relevant memorandum.
I urge you to continue working one hundred percent for security, just as we have done before.
And thank you very much”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
