President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to Spain, held talks with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and met with King Felipe VI.

The Head of State noted that Spain is consistently fulfilling the bilateral security agreement.
“This gives confidence in stable annual support — one billion euros per year”, — Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
The parties also agreed on concrete steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities:
- New aid package: “The total volume of the package is 300 million euros, and this will provide substantial assistance. I am grateful, in particular, for the air defense missiles.”
- PURL program: Spain will contribute 100 million euros for the purchase of air defense missiles.
- SAFE program: Spain will allocate more than 200 million euros to joint defense projects.
Energy sector and meeting with the King
They separately discussed the situation in the energy sector after Russian strikes.
“I am grateful for the economic package — 200 million euros, including support for the energy sector”, — the President stated.
As part of the visit, Zelensky also met with King Felipe VI at the Zarzuela Palace.
“The Head of State thanked Spain for its sincere support of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression — for military assistance and for the warm attitude toward Ukrainians who have found temporary refuge in the country”, — the report says.
