Ukraine has received 21 Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers from Latvia, which will soon be handed over to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The transfer of the vehicles took place today in Riga, at the Adazi military base”, — noted Denys Shmyhal, expressing gratitude to Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds, the Latvian government, and the entire Latvian people for their support of Ukraine.
According to him, with this delivery, Latvia has fulfilled its commitments for 2025:
“In total, in 2025, we received all 42 promised armored vehicles. I thank our friends and partners for this”.

During the visit, Denys Shmyhal emphasized that, given Russia’s ongoing aggression, Ukraine expects decisive steps from its partners regarding the use of frozen Russian assets.
“Ukraine counts on the launch of the so-called ‘reparation loan’ funded by frozen Russian assets. Joint and decisive action is needed — because this is a matter of security not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe”, — concluded the head of the defense ministry.
