President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a significant strengthening of Ukraine’s Air Force with Swedish Gripen fighter jets.
The President of Ukraine shared this information on social media.
“Together with Sweden, Ukraine will significantly expand its combat aviation. This is an ambitious task, and it must be accomplished”, — the Head of State’s message reads.
According to the President, this is now a historic step — an agreement with Sweden regarding Gripen fighter jets — and it is a good choice.
“We are counting on 150 such aircraft for Ukraine, and the first are expected to arrive next year,” Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
Gripens for Ukraine are part of our security guarantees.
“Such Air Forces will be able to protect our skies one hundred percent. There has never been such a large-scale agreement on combat aviation for Ukraine before. A historic achievement. We are working to fully implement it. Sweden, thank you!” — the President of Ukraine’s statement reads.
