Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, reported that the Cabinet of Ministers supported the Ministry of Defence’s initiative to simplify the procedure for procuring unmanned systems, electronic warfare (EW) equipment and their parts for the front.
He announced this on Wednesday, October 22, on his social media.
“From now on, military units will be able to directly purchase both the systems themselves and their components — electric motors, batteries and other standardized components — without bureaucratic obstacles”, — the statement says.
Denys Shmyhal recalled that until now this was complicated by the fact that suppliers were forced to assemble a full package of documents for a codified item.
“After the Cabinet adopted amendments to the Procedure for the procurement of domestically produced unmanned systems, tactical-level electronic warfare means and their components, these barriers are removed. The decision will help provide the Armed Forces units with the necessary UAVs and EW equipment more quickly and effectively, which will strengthen the combat capability of the Defence Forces”, — the minister of defence noted.
