During his visit to Luxembourg, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal held a series of meetings where a new package of military assistance was agreed upon — it will include drones, tactical vehicles, and night vision devices.

The head of the defense ministry reported this on his official page.

Military aid and new technologies

During a meeting with Luxembourg’s Minister of Defense Yuriko Backes, Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude for the new aid package announced at the latest meeting in the “Ramstein” format.

It includes tactical vehicles, drones, and night vision optics.

Ukraine noted Luxembourg’s leadership in the IT Coalition and its readiness to join the PURL initiative, aimed at purchasing American-made weapons.

“I invited Luxembourg to participate in industrial and technological cooperation projects — particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and space”, — Denys Shmyhal stated.

The parties also discussed support for Ukrainian prisoners of war and the development of rehabilitation programs.

Frozen assets and sanctions pressure

During meetings with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Claude Wiseler, and parliamentarians, Denys Shmyhal emphasized the importance of using frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine.

“The aggressor must pay for the war. We count on support for decisions that will allow these funds to be used and that will strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia”, — the Minister of Defense said.

The issue of financial support for Ukraine was also raised during talks with Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.
