Following the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the decision to form additional helicopter groups for drone defense and outlined the priorities for the upcoming Ramstein meeting.
The Head of State wrote about this on his official page.
According to the President, the number one issue at the Staff meeting was the protection and restoration of Ukraine’s energy sector. He thanked energy workers, repair crews, and the State Emergency Service for their round-the-clock efforts, calling their work heroic.
Reports were also presented regarding the situation in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Poltava.
During the meeting, ways to strengthen protection against drones were determined.
“We identified how to expand the capabilities of the army aviation for drone defense. Additional helicopter groups will be formed”, — the President stated.
Work with partners also continues on obtaining new types of aircraft and increasing the production of interceptor drones.
Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal reported on the preparations for the next meeting in the Ramstein format, which will take place on Wednesday.
“Our priorities are air defense, and there is a clear understanding of which country and under what conditions rapid deliveries can be made”, — the Head of State emphasized.
The President also called to fill the European program Security Action for Europe (SAFE) “with truly relevant content that will deter Russia right now”.
