Deputy Commander of the 204th Territorial Defense Battalion, Captain Olha Bihar, became the best graduate of the Battalion Staff Officers Training Course conducted according to NATO standards, organized with the support of Canada and Latvia.
This was reported on the official page of the 241st Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces.
The three-week course prepares Ukrainian servicemembers for planning and conducting operations in accordance with NATO standards. The course leader from the Canadian Operation UNIFIER, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Penny, praised Olha Bihar for her “exceptional critical thinking ability, deep understanding of planning principles, and outstanding communication skills”.
During the training, Olha served as the commander of one of the battalions during a command-and-staff exercise. She significantly improved her knowledge of military English and was even invited to give a lecture to Ukrainian students.
Olha Bihar has been defending Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion. She began her military career as a company’s chief sergeant and now serves as the deputy battalion commander.
“Today, Olha’s name is engraved on a crystal sword — as a symbol of the best graduate of the Battalion Staff Officers Training Course”, — the brigade concluded.
