President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer.

This was reported on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

Keir Starmer expressed his condolences over the overnight Russian shelling of Ukraine.

The Head of State noted that Ukraine’s energy system was among the targets of this terrorist attack, emphasizing the need to strengthen air defense and accelerate every decision regarding the supply of missiles and systems.

The leaders discussed ways to reinforce Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keir Starmer also discussed the possible participation of the United Kingdom in the PURL program. This is a powerful initiative that helps significantly strengthen Ukraine’s positions.

In addition, the leaders coordinated contacts with partners and steps within the coalition of the willing. Preparations are underway for a substantive conversation later this month. It is important that the work be as meaningful and productive as possible.

Special attention was paid to the preparation of new sanction measures against Russia. The Prime Minister shared several ideas that could help apply the right kind of pressure. Each new sanctions decision weakens Russia’s war machine. The leaders agreed to continue joint efforts together with all partners.
